At Kerv, we believe that our core values are the foundation of our success and the driving force behind our community of Kervers and making Kerv the best place to work! Our annual internal event, “Stay Ahead,” was a testament to these values, bringing together our teams from all over the globe to celebrate achievements, share insights, and look forward to an exciting future.
Here’s a recap of the day’s highlights and the inspiring stories that showcase our commitment to spreading good vibes, doing the right thing, thinking customers first, building future, and valuing the team!
Rufus Grig, CTO at Kerv, said:
“Now in its seventh year, the Best Workplaces in Tech list celebrates companies adept at developing dynamic, collaborative cultures that serve as a catalyst for innovation and personal growth for all. In one of the country’s fastest-growing industries, it’s fantastic to see these Tech organisations placing their people strategy at the top of the agenda and implementing employee experience programmes that create a positive culture for all. A huge congratulations to Kerv for making this prestigious list.”
Spread Good Vibes
Throughout the day, we presented our Kervers with Kerv Value Awards, recognising individuals and teams who embody our core values. Jacqui Hawkes and Rebekah Avill were honored for the company value ‘Spread Good Vibes’! In the spirit of spreading good vibes, Kerv matched every donation made by our team to the Hackney Foodbank throughout the day, raising an impressive £2818. This contribution will provide 3,640 emergency meals to those in need, showcasing our commitment to supporting our community!
Do the Right Thing
Jake Wells and Arjun Rajendran were recognised for their commitment to doing the right thing. Co-founder and executive chair, Alastair Mills highlighted this value, emphasising how it guides our acquisition strategy to ensure fairness and mutual benefit. This approach has been integral to our success and is reflected in the positive experiences of those who have joined Kerv through acquisitions.

Think Customer First
Leianne Jennings and Kathleen Kilgarriff were awarded for their dedication to ‘thinking customer first’. We were honoured to have customer speakers David Norton from London Marathon Events and Chris Brook-Carter from The Retail Trust share their insights on working with Kerv over the past years. Our Expo also showcased innovation with stands from various Kerv practices and sponsors like Genesys, TD SYNNEX, Infinigate, and Juniper Networks. Attendees explored cutting-edge technology, won prizes, and enjoyed fun activities like cornhole and racing games, all while keeping our customers at the forefront.
Build Future
The C&C Voice Compliance Engineering Team was celebrated for their efforts in ‘building future’. Reflecting on our mission to harness technology for the good of our people, customers, society, and planet, we discussed our FY25 priorities. These include inspiring people, enhancing customer feedback, driving growth, and pursuing innovations and M&A opportunities. Our sustainability update reaffirmed our goal to achieve net zero by 2029, underscoring our dedication to environmental responsibility.
Team is Everything
Rich Harding and the Legal Team were recognised for exemplifying that team is everything! This was seen in all our discussions and panels, including a special AI Discussion panel featuring Rufus Grig, Mario Cirillo, Rich Harding, and Mike Chappell who focused on how Kerv can go further with AI!
In true Team is Everything fashion, our Kervers went to various Breakout Sessions, run by Kervers and external speakers, to dive deeper into topics to help better our teams!
The sessions ranged from Negotiation Skills, with external speaker, Sam MacBeth, to Tech Intensity, discussing AI at Kerv with Will Dorrington to Meditation and Karate sessions, led by Jane Davison, Jacqui Hawkes and Dave Colam. Offering a extremely wide range of options to our Kervers, who chose out of 12 session which sessions would be best suited to them!
A special thank you to all our breakout session speakers – you really made the day unique and informative!
Our Stay Ahead 2024 event concluded with a Q&A session with Mike and Alastair, followed by an inspiring talk from guest speaker, legendary Olympian Derek Redmond, to leave our Kervers feeling inspired! His message was clear – everyone has a different definition of success (which is a good thing!). His definition was clear, it’s about getting up one more time that you are knocked down 😊
The day ended on a high – with drinks, a mariachi band, and our now legendary photobooth. The perfect opportunity for networking, relaxation and fun!
This year’s Stay Ahead was a testament to our Kervers’ achievements and a powerful reminder of the exciting journey ahead. Together, we continue to harness the power of technology to make a positive impact on our people, customers, society, and planet. Here’s to staying ahead and achieving even greater heights in the future!
