Taking a Moment to Reflect
Back in March, I had the privilege of flying over to the States to attend Microsoft’s Global Nonprofit Leaders’ Summit 2025. It’s taken me a while to pause and really reflect on the experience – and now feels like the right moment to share some thoughts. Sometimes you need that space to let things sink in and see the bigger picture.
A Global Gathering for Good
The Summit brought together nonprofit and technology leaders from around the world – all united by a shared belief that technology, when done right, can be a real force for good. The energy in the room was extraordinary. Whether it was conversations around AI for social impact, inclusive data practices, or the shifting role of leadership in uncertain times, there was this strong sense of possibility in every corner of the venue.
Yes, the world is facing complex challenges – but the nonprofit sector is stepping up, powered by purpose and increasingly, by innovative technology.
AI With Purpose
As expected, AI was a big theme throughout the Summit. But what stood out to me wasn’t just the tech itself – it was the emphasis on responsibility, ethics, and human-centred design. It’s not about shiny tools for the sake of it. It’s about how we use them to listen better, act faster, and ultimately serve people and communities more effectively.
The use cases shared were incredible – from frontline humanitarian work to deep community engagement in remote parts of the world.
A Big Moment for Kerv Digital
While over in Seattle, we celebrated a key milestone for Kerv Digital – we officially launched our new and improved industry accelerator suite, designed specifically to support the nonprofit sector.
These solutions bring together the best of Microsoft’s cloud technology, with Kerv’s sector expertise to help organisations streamline and automate critical operations – from case management and income processing to supporter engagement and impact reporting.
More importantly, it enables nonprofits to extend their reach far beyond their current footprint, connecting with supporters and donors in more meaningful, data-driven ways. It’s a big step forward in our ongoing commitment to helping the sector achieve more with less, without compromising on mission or values.

A Grateful and Hopeful Outlook
Representing Kerv Digital and our amazing clients at the Summit was a real honour. I had some brilliant conversations with peers, partners, and Microsoft leaders, and I’m proud of how we’re helping nonprofits reimagine their digital journeys. At Kerv, we talk a lot about technology with heart – and I saw that spirit reflected throughout the Summit.
A heartfelt thank you to the team at Microsoft for hosting such a thoughtful and future-focused event. And to my colleagues at Kerv Digital – thank you for the work you do every day to support impact-led organisations. Most importantly, a massive shoutout to everyone working in the nonprofit sector. You inspire me constantly. The challenges are real, but so is the momentum. And I was left with a real sense of optimism.
Let’s Keep Going
Let’s keep building. Let’s keep learning. And let’s keep using tech to do good, better.
