Meet Sohaib Wahid, Kerv's new Chief Financial Officer!

This September, we were thrilled to welcome aboard a new Kerver, Sohaib Wahid, as our new Chief Financial Officer (CFO)!

Sohaib brings a wealth of experience in finance and leadership roles across various tech businesses, and we can’t wait to see his dynamic and strategic approach in practice.

We asked Sohaib a few questions to help us, and you, get to know him better.

Tell us a bit about yourself!

“I’ve previously held senior finance leadership roles in various other private-equity backed Technology businesses. Proud father of 3 boys including a 6 month-old. Football mad, very happy Liverpool fan and coach to local Under 7’s!”

What does being CFO at Kerv entail?

“Providing stories through numbers to arm the business with insights into performance and being a strategic partner to drive growth. Also ensuring strong controls and legal frameworks in place to lay solid foundations and protect the business.”

What have your first few months at Kerv been like?

“Intense! Lots of new information to take in but the whole business has been so supporting and welcoming. To experience Stay Ahead in my second week was a huge slice of lucky timing and I’m already feeling part of the furniture!”

How has it been leading the finance team?

“I’m very lucky to have such a passionate group. Resilient in adversity and often going above and beyond for the wider business cause. Some really good characters who don’t take themselves seriously and up for a laugh!”

What is your favourite Kerv value?

“Spread Good Vibes! I’m a big believer in strong teams being greater than the sum of its parts. Positivity is contagious and creates an environment of resilience and innovation which will ensure the business is set up well for the future all while being able to enjoy the journey!”

What do you do outside of work?

“I like to keep active through playing football and tennis (and winding down with some occasional snooker!). Otherwise ferrying the kids around to various clubs and travelling.”

Who is your dream dinner party guest?

“Jurgen Klopp for the inside track on life as Liverpool manager and to tap into his leadership skills. Ricky Gervais for the banter!”

Lastly, Kerv recently launched a new Impact Report. What do you think about Kerv’s Sustainability Mission, how do you incorporate this into your day-to-day role?

“It’s essential to live our sustainability mission day to day, particularly in hiring decisions, by making sure we have diversity of thought and background in the team. Also, continually monitor best practices and making sure the decisions/investments we make are not solely motivated by fiscal outcome but also what it means for our people and society.”
