Kerv: The Story So Far – One of Growth and Evolution

When Mike Ing and Alastair Mills founded Kerv, their vision was clear: to create a new business-to-business technology partner in the UK that offered a broad portfolio of cloud-based services that centred around employee experience.

Fast forward to today, Kerv has grown from a start-up to a powerhouse with six specialist technology and consulting practices ranging from cloud and network infrastructure services; cyber and security services including compliant communications, right through to truly transformation services in business applications, customer experience, data and AI.

So, what has that journey been like for Kerv?

I sat down with Mike to discuss Kerv’s journey so far and how the mission has evolved as the business has.

In 2024, Kerv’s mission changed from ‘Stay Ahead’ to ‘To harness the power of technology for the good of all stakeholders – people, customers, society, and the planet’. This marked a huge milestone in the Kerv journey in defining the company’s values, goals and future. Mike emphasised the importance of a shift towards sustainable growth and responsible business practices, reinvesting profits into societal and environmental initiatives; read more about this in our latest Impact Report.

Kerv’s purpose-led approach is more pronounced today than ever. With the updated mission to ensure employees, stakeholders and senior leadership stay aligned with our company values reflected in our mission. Despite scaling from zero to 800+ employees, Kerv has maintained its core values and culture. The feedback from employees and customers is overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the company’s commitment to its principles.

Kerv’s core values have also evolved throughout the Kerv journey and continue to motivate and inspire Kervers. Mike notes that senior leadership will continue to review Kerv’s values to ensure they represent who we are, how we work and what we stand for.

Reflecting on Kerv’s growth, Mike shares, “It’s been an amazing journey so far with Kerv. Our founding principles and the values we hold dear remain those values today and will continue to be as we scale the business.”

Kerv’s journey so far is one of purpose, growth, and innovation. Having stayed true to the founding principles and values while adapting and evolving to reflect the business’ goals, proving that technology can indeed be a force for good!
