On the 24th September, Kerv brought together innovators, technologists, and changemakers for Mission Possible: Agentic AI for Social Impact – a hands-on hackathon exploring how Agentic AI, Copilot Studio, and other Microsoft Cloud technologies can drive meaningful change across the nonprofit, membership, and higher education sectors.
Hosted at Kerv’s London HQ, the day challenged teams to design creative, intelligent solutions for Mission Pawsible – a fictional charity dedicated to helping children and families experience the wonder of space through trips and education. Behind the whimsy sat real-world challenges: supporter engagement, fundraising, and community storytelling – all areas where mission-driven organisations are striving to do more with less.
Exploring What’s Possible with Agentic AI
The concept of Agentic AI – systems that can act autonomously, learn from context, and take initiative – set the stage for a day of experimentation.
Unlike traditional automation, Agentic AI doesn’t just follow instructions; it acts alongside you, by identifying patterns, making recommendations, and triggering actions it frees people to focus on what really matters – their mission.
Across every team, one message was clear: Agentic AI is most powerful when paired with human creativity.
The Mission
Throughout the day, our four teams built creative, AI-driven solutions to improve engagement, streamline operations, and amplify impact for Mission Pawsible.
Guided by Kerv specialists and our Mission Command judging panel – featuring experts from Microsoft, Charity IT Leaders, and Kerv’s own Social Enterprise Client Services Director – participants demonstrated how Agentic AI can turn imagination into impactful innovation.
The four solutions ranged from dynamic learning platforms and fundraising apps, to intelligent storytelling systems and automated donor engagement tools. Each project revealed the power of Copilot Studio and Agentic AI to accelerate digital transformation in mission-led organisations.
Solution Overviews:
Cosmic Curriculum Hub – Team Hacking for Goodington
Participants set out to explore how Agentic AI could transform the way children learn about space by building an interactive education platform. Using Microsoft Dataverse to structure course content and Copilot Studio to generate both model-driven and canvas applications, the team created a solution that could manage courses, adapt to different learning ages, and engage children with interactive quizzes. A custom AI Agent, trained on NASA resources, further enriched the experience by delivering tailored space questions and real-time feedback.
To close the loop, Power Automate flows were introduced to celebrate quiz completions and capture learner feedback – demonstrating how Agentic AI can make education more personalised, engaging, and inspiring.
AI-Powered Fundraising App – Team Bearforce One
This team focused on reimagining fundraising for Mission Pawsible, developing a solution where Copilot Studio was not only used in the build process but embedded directly into the donor journey. Leveraging Microsoft’s Plan Designer and a team of Agentic AI agents, the team rapidly generated requirements, personas, features, and process models to shape their approach.
The resulting solution included a model-driven app to manage events, donations, and registrations, alongside Copilot agents integrated into both supporter and administrative workflows. By streamlining processes and reducing manual effort, the solution demonstrated how AI can make giving simpler, more engaging, and more effective – enabling the charity to dedicate more time and energy to delivering impact.
AI Pudding Chef – Team Children in the Sky
This team set out to simplify the coordination of pledges, donations, and recipes for Misson Pawsible’s pudding-themed fundraising. Partnering with four AI agents – Requirements, Process, Data, and Solution – they designed a connected platform using Microsoft’s Power Platform to manage the full journey from enquiry to donation.
Their solution included a model-driven app to curate recipes and link ingredients, Canvas apps for pudding makers and donors, and Power Automate flows for pledge tracking and alerts. An intelligent AI agent enhanced efficiency with recipe suggestions and substitutions, demonstrating how Agentic AI can blend creativity and automation to support meaningful impact.
To bring their concept closer to a real-world application, the team showcased how enquiries could be captured directly from Outlook, transformed into opportunities, and linked to recipes and donations — creating a clear, connected, and engaging process.
Alumni Story Collector – Team Marma-AI-de
This team explored how Agentic AI could transform storytelling and alumni engagement for Mission Pawsible. Their mission – to capture and categorise stories from families and children who’ve experienced space adventures with Puddington Bear.
Using PowerApps Plan Designer, they generated requirements, personas, and process models before developing a model-driven app for administrators to curate submissions. A custom chatbot collected stories in an engaging, conversational way, while an AI agent summarised, categorised, and matched alumni to relationship managers – even generating tailored call scripts for follow-up. The solution demonstrated how AI-driven workflows can turn personal stories into powerful tools for connection and ongoing engagement.
What We Learned
The hackathon reaffirmed what we already believed: technology is at its most powerful when it amplifies human creativity and purpose.
More than just a technical challenge, the day was an exercise in learning how these emerging technologies can be applied responsibly and effectively in the real world – supporting the missions of charities and social enterprises without losing the human touch.
Key takeaways included:
- AI works best when it supports, not replaces.
The most successful teams built solutions that augmented human effort — empowering staff and volunteers with insights, automation, and giving them time back to focus on impact. - Integration is everything.
Leveraging Microsoft’s Power Platform, Dataverse, and Copilot tools, teams showed how seamless data flow can connect systems, reduce duplication, and improve decision-making. - Creativity drives adoption.
By embedding fun, storytelling, and intuitive design, teams reminded us that the best technology inspires people to use it — whether that’s a fundraiser logging donations or a child learning about space.
A Mission Accomplished – and a Beginning
As we reflect on the day, one key discovery stands out: Agentic AI has the potential to reshape how mission-driven organisations operate, engage, and deliver impact. By combining automation, intelligence, and human empathy, we can unlock new ways to serve communities, build relationships, and scale social good.
The event showed that Agentic AI isn’t just a technological leap forward – it’s a new way to drive purpose through technology.
At Kerv, we’re proud to help organisations explore what’s possible when cloud technology, creativity, and compassion align.
This mission may be complete – but the journey to harness AI for social good has only just begun.
