Ben Hutchins

User Experience Lead

Ben started at Kerv in November 2022 following a 3-year contract at the Government’s Apprenticeship Service designing a series of services to manage apprentices, training providers and organisations involved in the scheme. This is his first full-time role in a while having been a contractor for many years, apart from a 10-year period when he co-ran a design studio with his best friend.

When it comes to UX – and design in general – Ben is driven by a desire to improve a user’s experience. Ben says “I get a lot of satisfaction out of knowing that I’ve helped to streamline an otherwise frustrating process, and I’ve been involved in enough projects now to get a good sense of how this can really impact someone’s personal or work life”. He adds “I also love creating ‘something from nothing’ – to start with a blank canvas and by executing various skills and activities, create something tangible and worthwhile”.
