Reflections from the Emergency Tech Show at the NEC

It’s been just over a week since we wrapped up the Emergency Tech Show at the NEC in Birmingham, where Kerv Digital was proud to be part of the Microsoft Pavilion alongside other forward-thinking partners. We were delighted by the energy and innovation on display, with attendees and partners coming together to share how technology is revolutionising blue light services. From the moment we were greeted by those intriguing robo-dogs at the entrance, we knew we were in the right expo 😉

Our Microsoft stage session: Revolutionising Blue Light Services with Microsoft Technologies through Shared Learning, led by Sonia Waters, was a real highlight for us. It was well attended, with plenty of insightful discussions and questions that reaffirmed just how passionate the sector is about embracing digital transformation. In this session, Sonia explored how Kerv Digital is helping drive change by harmonising Microsoft technologies—Azure, Power Platform, and Dynamics 365—for the unique demands of blue light industries.

One standout example we highlighted was the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency’s (DVSA) Enforcement Casework Transformation project. We were asked by Microsoft to showcase shared learning through our work in other governmental sectors. This project in particular integrates seamlessly with the Crown Prosecution Service and other agencies, ensuring the secure handling of data and evidence while empowering frontline workers with robust offline capabilities via handheld devices. This case, underpinned by Dynamics 365 and Dataverse, is a clear example of how modern technology can streamline operations and enhance outcomes in critical public services.

We also shared insights on how this transferrable knowledge can benefit other sectors like transport and defence, where Microsoft technologies are equally game-changing. The discussions that followed were not only insightful but a clear indication of the shared vision across these sectors for improving customer engagement and operational excellence in the cloud era.

It wasn’t just about the serious stuff, though! We hope everyone had fun with the sports cars and enjoyed the giveaways at our stand. The buzz (not just from our live game of the classic game of Operation that we had on the stand 😊) throughout the event was incredible, and we thoroughly enjoyed learning from the fantastic partner sessions that took place. Meeting so many dedicated professionals who are using technology to support the critical work they do on the frontlines was truly inspiring.

As we continue to follow up on the engaging conversations and connections made, we are excited about the future of blue light services and how Kerv Digital, together with Microsoft, can contribute to that journey. If we didn’t get a chance to speak during the event or if you missed Sonia’s session, we’d love to continue the conversation. Let’s explore how we can help you harness the power of Microsoft technologies to shape the future of your organisation.

Thanks again to everyone who visited the stand and attended our sessions—we hope you found it as valuable as we did!
